This January, the Northwest Animal Rights Network (NARN) and Katie of the super smart vegan blog, Serenity in the Storm are bringing another awesome vegan community event to Seattle. Get ready for all of your favorite things rolled up in one fun ball: beer, vegan food, prizes, movies, and helping pigs at Pints for Pigs Peace! A little pig goes a long way.
This movie party will center around a double feature of the 1995 classic, “Babe” and “A Home for Life,” the documentary short about Pigs Peace Animal Sanctuary. All of the money raised will go to NARN and Pig’s Peace, including the $20 entry donation. But there will be so much more than just movies! Central Cinema will be featuring all of their best vegan grub for us to buy, including their famous Field Roast “pig in a blanket” (yes, ironic name) and their new vegan pizza. Pints and pitchers of beer from local breweries like Odin and Georgetown Brewing will also be available. And you’ll be able to enter drawings for very cool brew-themed prizes from local businesses. Not only that, but limited edition vegan pint glasses will be debuting and for sale. All of the profits from the pint glasses and drawing will go to NARN and the sanctuary.
Don’t know about Pigs Peace? This incredible animal sanctuary sits on 39 acres of meadow and forest land near Stanwood WA where the 180+ pigs roam freely in the fields and forest. Each pig’s rescue is heart breaking, harrowing, and eventually heart warming. This sanctuary not only serves as a home for life for abused and neglected pigs, but as a place of peace and respite for humans involved in animal advocacy as well. Sanctuaries depend on the support of their communities. We are that community!
Please grab a friend, your kids, a cousin, or a hot date and get your tickets to this all-ages event! Support your local sanctuaries and have an amazing time. See you there!
