Rip Esselsyn in Seattle at Whole Foods Markets

If you don’t know who Rip Esselsyn is, then I suggest doing a few YouTube searches for this amazing guy! I had a chance to interview him in May of 2011 when the Forks Over Knives film launched here in Seattle. He is a retired fire fighter, former Olympic swimmer, Iron Man triathlete, author of the Engine 2 Diet, and son of much beloved Dr. Caldwell Esselsyn. Rip approaches veganism from a health perspective, and does so in a way that resonates with the “manly man” archetype and those infrequently associated with progressive eating habits.  He’ll be in our town Thursday June 6 at some local Wholefoods markets.

If you are passionate about health on a plant-based diet, or you have friends and family who struggle with health issues such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease, seeing Rip speak and looking into his book should be at the VERY top of your list. Bring your mom and dad, seriously. Check out this 20 minute TED Talk Rip gave in 2010 to get an idea of his story.
